With 2013 all wrapped up, I thought it was a good time to reflect on what was a very big year for me.
In no particular order, in twenty thirteen my fiancé and I were engaged for our first full year together. After moving from Sydney to Perth in 20111, we also bought our first house in Perth in 2013.
The Perth Wildcats signed me up as the teams official photographer for the 2013/14 season (my second year in the position). I also captured what turned out to be my most popular sports photograph to date – the picture of Miami Heat import and Wildcats player, James Ennis went viral on social media circles.
Twenty Thirteen also included multiple trips to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane. We also jetted over to Bali for some R&R. I also caught on the Breaking Bad bandwagon, albeit a little later than most. I managed to see the year out with Walter White still gracing the solver screen – I didn’t finish Breaking Bad until 2 January.
I shared in the joy of my cousin’s child’s first birthday and Christening. Khoa is one cute baby indeed – such a happy bundle of joy! The year also brought with it the very sad passing of a great, great man. Whilst I didn’t know him as well as other did, I feel blessed to have met and known him. We lost an amazing person and heaven gained one. Our thoughts went out to his family.
I decided to overhaul my website, and this is the end product. I procrastinated for some time, but thats because I wanted to build the site myself to ensure that the feel of the site was exactly what I was after. Its still a work in progress, but I’m happy with the result.
My fiancé and I got our first puppy, a beautiful golden English Cockers Spaniel which we names Arie (after Ari Gold – the character from Entourage). Some 9 months later we adopted a fun and energetic 8 month old cream Cavoodle from family in Sydney. Now you can’t separate Archie and Arie!
The year ended with us hosting a NYE pool party. Luckily we weren’t too loud for the neighbours and they allowed us to kick on into the early hours of the new year. What better way then to celebrate the new year with good friends and family.
I (kind of) met my new years resolution and I went to the gym (resolution was to get fit as I was some 5 years ago). We painted the house. Ripped out the front and back garden and gave our green thumbs a go. Continued my love affair with coffee. Went for a few runs and a couple of bike runs. And planned a beautiful wedding for 2014.
Twenty thirteen was a big big year. There were too many amazing events to list. And as we look forward to a very excitting 2014, here are some photos I captured in 2013.
